Amphotericin B is a polyene antifungal antibiotic from Streptomyce sp. It has a high affinity for sterols, especially ergosterols, of both fungal and bacterial cell membranes. Normal usage in maintenance of antifungal cell cultures is 2.5 mg/L with penicillin and streptomycin used in the medium.

Amphotericin B

This antibiotic is one of the earliest compounds designed to kill fungi. It was developed to help treat fungal infections intravenously. It has since been found to help eliminate fungal contamination in cell cultures as well. Low doses (0.5 to 2.0 ug/mL) are recommended as it is toxic to other eukaryotic cells at higher concentrations.

Final concentration of Amphotericin B is undiluted, 250ug/mL.

should be sterilized by  filteration

the solution format should be dhiped on ice.

Store frozen at -20 to -10°C
