Description:

Among biological buffers PBS is one of the most commonly used. The buffer is isotonic and non-toxic to cells and has the ability to maintain their osmolarity. Thereby the buffer is suitable for washing procedures in cell cultures and for immunoassays such as ELISA and immuno-histochemical procedures. It is often used for sample dilution in molecular biology and as protein diluent in Western blotting. Furthermore, the buffer can function as an equilibrator for gel filter columns. DNAbiotech Phosphate Buffered Saline (PBS) powders solved very very fasat in D.W (less than 1 min) and are designed to provide a cleaner, simple, faster, no-mess environment and more convenience buffer preparation.

Each PBS sache contains a pre-determined amount of NaCl, KCl, Na2HPO4 and KH2PO4 powder when dissolved in 500 ml D.W resulted in 0.01M phosphate buffer, 0.0027M KCl, and 0.137M NaCl, pH 7.3 (± 0.1) at RT.
